This gathering foot is made for creating soft, relaxed gathers in lightweight fabrics. The foot is designed so the underside is raised behind the needle while a thick bar in front of the needle easily gathers on a single layer of fabric. To obtain a more dramatic ruffle gather, simply switch to a ruffler. This foot is designed to work with machines that have a 9mm max. stitch width.
